I am not a fan of the heft of it but my husband doesn't mind the size and this was a gift for him. 20 GB media player does it all. Keeps your documents, pics as well as music and videos, movies as well. Adapts to IPod car adaptors but again, bulky to carry around. Great for traveling though.
Upon receiving the item- I noticed that there was No Receipt,No warranty Card, No cables,No Owner,s Inst.Manual,No Quick Start Guide,No host Cable etc. I must prevent another buyer not to become victim of this kind fraud. Dear Amazon, I been proud to be your customer, but this Sellor has cheated me. in advance it cannot be done. I lost 100% of my money because I purchased the item in Good-faith. Upon, Amazon,s help and request I did everthihg I could to resolve the issue, but first the sellor did not care to respond to my E-mails and then upon Amazon,s intervention - the sellor acknowledged after two weeks that there is Warranty Card and Receipt and the item is New. All, I got from the sellor is run-around and I had already told that I will not send it back,because I was advised by the authority that since its my Evidence- I must not return it if I have to file a Complaint of Fraud/Cheating.
Since, these cheap one-night sellors do not give Return Policy/Full Refund on Amazon,s site- wnenever and whom so ever I contacted I never got satisfactory response or the sellor will not reply ). The poduct was advertised as New in Box and before buying it I had asked the sellor if I would be provided a Sales Receipt stating that the item is infact New, because iRiver will not help without the receipt. ( These cheap sellors advertise stating that item is New and in-fact its not. When I challenged that its 8-Years old and per the Manufacturer it needs upgrading and without the Receipt & Warranty Card, unless I pay $140. Sellor stated that it (did,nt care less if its 8-years old). That tells me that there is something Fishy. Wonder how many more are there like this one.
Also the user interface takes a little getting used to. It has it's own speaker, a stand, and is generally EASY to handle.
I took it everywhere I went and just watched Cowboy Bebop and Firefly on it. I've had this product for about 3 years.
Well videos you have to convert first. It works like a portable hard drive.
You just drag and drop. My only complaint is that its a little bulky to take for a jog or whatnot.
But I mean it didn't take much time to understand how it all works.
I built a AA battery adapter to extend the play time and recharge. It is outdated, but it does what it is supposed to. I have had this for a few years now. So like I said it works. The sad thing here is that Iriver used linux to create this, but when challenged to provide the source the made a pretty weak effort. Thus this product never reached it's potential.I use it to watch movies and listen to music when flying. I bought another one on the bay for 60 and it works fine. Like I said if we could have gotten all the source for the rom and added some of the fine software that exists for embedded linux it could have been a sweet deal.
bought this for my son last year. It is the best of the best. He has had no problems with it and stilluses it.
